vay'daber Adonai el Moshe b'har Sinai lemor
And the LORD spoke to Moses on Mount Sinai, saying:
daber el b'nei Yisra'el v'amarta alehem ki tavo'u el ha'aretz asher ani noten lachem v'shavtah ha'aretz Shabbat l'Adonai
Speak to the children of Israel, and say to them: When you come into the land which I give you, then shall the land keep a sabbath to the LORD.
shesh shanim tizra sadecha v'shesh shanim tizmor karmecha v'asafta et t'vu'atah
Six years you shall sow your field, and six years you shall prune your vineyard, and gather in its produce.
uvashanah hash'vi'it Shabbat shabbaton yih'yeh la'aretz Shabbat l'Adonai sadcha lo tizra v'karmecha lo tizmor
But in the seventh year shall be a sabbath of solemn rest for the land, a sabbath to the LORD; you shall neither sow your field nor prune your vineyard.
et s'fi'ach k'tzircha lo tiktzor v'et inv'ei n'zirecha lo tivtzor sh'nat shabbaton yih'yeh la'aretz
That which grows of itself of your harvest you shall not reap, and the grapes of your undressed vine you shall not gather; it shall be a year of solemn rest for the land.
v'hay'tah Shabbat ha'aretz lachem l'achlah l'cha ul'avd'cha v'la'amatecha v'lis'chircha ul'toshavcha hagarim imach
And the sabbath-produce of the land shall be for food for you: for yourself, and for your servant, and for your maid, and for your hired worker, and for the settler who lives with you.
v'liv'hemt'cha v'lachayah asher b'artzecha tih'yeh kol t'vu'atah le'echol
And for your cattle, and for the beasts that are in your land, shall all the produce thereof be for food.
v'safarta l'cha sheva shab'tot shanim sheva shanim sheva p'amim v'hayu l'cha y'mei sheva shab'tot hashanim tesha v'arba'im shanah
And you shall count seven sabbaths of years, seven times seven years; and there shall be to you the days of seven sabbaths of years, forty-nine years.
v'ha'avarta shofar t'ru'ah bachodesh hash'vi'i be'asor lachodesh b'yom haKippurim ta'aviru shofar b'chol artzechem
Then you shall sound the shofar blast on the tenth day of the seventh month; on the Day of Atonement you shall sound the shofar throughout all your land.
v'kidashtem et sh'nat hachamishim shanah uk'ratem d'ror ba'aretz l'chol yosh'veha yovel hi tih'yeh lachem v'shavtem ish el achuzato v'ish el mishpachto tashuvu
And you shall sanctify the fiftieth year, and proclaim liberty throughout the land to all its inhabitants; it shall be a jubilee for you, and you shall return every man to his possession, and every man to his family.
yovel hi sh'nat hachamishim shanah tih'yeh lachem lo tizra'u v'lo tiktz'ru et s'ficheha v'lo tivtz'ru et n'zireha
A jubilee shall that fiftieth year be to you; you shall not sow, neither reap that which grows of itself in it, nor gather the grapes of the undressed vines.
ki yovel hi kodesh tih'yeh lachem min hasadeh tochlu et t'vu'atah
For it is a jubilee; it shall be holy to you; you shall eat the produce of the field.
bish'nat hayovel hazot tashuvu ish el achuzato
In this year of jubilee you shall return every man to his possession.
